Eastern Stars Concert Band N.Z. (Eastern Stars Band Inc) welcomes
beginners to advanced.  Young and old.
 Auckland New Zealand
Eastern Stars Concert Band went to Matamata Brass Music Festival 20 May 2018
We (the band, conducted by Josh Kirk), received a 'Gold Award' and a trophy for 'Musical Excellence'.
Anga (Euphonium) also took the 'Senior Soloist Trophy' playing 'Benediction' and 'Carnival of Venice'.

Positive comments made by Barry Cullen (adjudicator): "A well constructed musical programme with good direction and leadership. Well done to the Euphonium Soloist. Clarinet/flutes well done throughout the performance. Some very stylistic playing. Good bass line over the length of the programme. Great focus by players throughout. All pieces played appropriately and with aplomb and style."

B. Cullen made a few other constructive criticisms which are not included in
this review, but we (the band) will take them on board and continue working
towards ever higher goals.  Josh (conductor) commented, "I am extremely
happy with the band's results at Matamata"   Ross Robertson (Band Patron)
wrote, "Congratulations and best wishes for an outstanding achievement".
